Before opening my own firm in 2009 I was the architect for many award winning residential projects, becoming increasingly passionate about making buildings more ecologically sustainable.

I strive to synthesize the needs of each individual client while bringing to bear my years of design education, experience, and knowledge. I try to allow each project to respond sensitively and appropriately to its site, while employing various strategies to conserve energy and resources, to create a healthy indoor (and outdoor) environment, and to design a high quality building that will last.

I began studying architecture at the age of 18, and have been captivated by it ever since. I received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1992, a Master’s degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley in 1997, and spent some of that time studying in Italy. I have been a licensed Architect since 2001, and became a Certified Green Building Professional in 2006.
