Nice blog, you clearly picked up the rudiments of the solar thermal concept. I would correct you on the solar heating needing a swimming pool, it is not necessary, makes the design criteria easier certainly, however we can design around it. In the summer we can run the system backwards at night and take heat from the storage and dump it into the night sky ( heat, not gases). Happy to explain some time.
